Civil rights movement!!
The civil rights movement started in 1965 through 1968.It was all about eqaul rights for woman,men,children of all colors.Everyone wanted to be free and to be treated as equals.No one should be treated differently just because of their religion,culture,or color.It shouldnt matter if we look different or speak another language we should all have the same rights when we live in the same country.
We needed Intergration NOT Segrigation!!BY 1966 the black power movement began which lasted till around 1975.The movement made the aim a whole lot larged they wanted freedom,dignity,and everything else that was equal rights.So after all their fighting we stand here to day a free nation.
One where everyone is friends and it doesnt matter what color,culture ,or realigion you are.Martin luther king was a big part of this without him we might not be free.We might all still be fighting for freedom.He lost his life to this cause and he gave a speech that blew everyone away.
So as we all sit here today we should be thankful.That people would give their own lifes to fight for something they want badly enough.If they didnt this world would never be the same.We would probaly never be free.Who knows we may still be owned by britian if people didnt fight for freedom.
